MODEL NUMBER
All DEWALT model numbers can be located on the rating label of each product as shown in the example below, they will always start with a letter D.
The full model number including the batteries if applicable can be found on the original packaging or the retailer receipt. Some examples of the same product but with different code variants due to their batteries are as below:
DCF887D2-GB (18V Impact Driver with 2 x 2.0Ah Batteries)
DCF887P2-GB (18V Impact Driver with 2 x 5.0Ah Batteries)
DCF887N-XJ (18V Impact Driver bare unit)
For combination kits please note:
If you have purchased a combination kit that includes 2 or more power tools then please register each tool individually, the model number for each individual tool can be found on its ratings plate as shown above. When you enter the model numbers, you can choose any of the variations that appear to continue and complete the registrations of the tools. POWERSTACK™ batteries need to be registered individual for 3 year warranty. Non-POWERSTACK™ batteries and chargers do not need to be registered as these products come with a 1 year warranty and are covered under your proof of purchase as standard.
What to do if you still can’t find your code:
Some retailers have their own specific code variants which may not be listed on the dropdown menu, therefore if the exact model number of your purchase is not on showing then please look to register the closest variant using the generic model number. The important part of the number when registering the tool is the first section as this recognizes the tool itself, in the above example the tool is a DCF887, as long as the initial part of the model number is correct then your tool will be covered. For Cordless tools this will be the first 3 letters starting with D and the first 3 numbers. For Corded tools this again will start with the letter D, please see examples as stated below:

DATE CODE
A date code is the year of manufacture followed by the week. It is an 8 digit code. Comprised of a 4 digit number followed by a 2 digit number, then another 2 digit number (which is sometimes alpha-numeric). This is an example of a valid date code - 2017-22-59. In case you cannot find your date code: please enter 2021-01-AA.
SERIAL NUMBER
The serial number of a tool can usually be found either on the rating label or within the battery compartment. It can consist of just numbers or a mixture of letters and numbers. In case you cannot find your serial number: please input your date of purchase e.g. 20062021.
